It is a special type of whiteboard which can store anything drawn on its surface, whether it is text or a graphic image. It stores this data onto a computer hard disk, therefore needs a computer to work with. To retrieve data from the computer hard disk and to display it on the whiteboard surface, an interactive whiteboard needs a projector also. Its inbuilt electromagnetic and resistive technologies enable a user to control mouse functions from a remote location either by using his finger or through stylus. Electromagnetic and resistive technologies based front/rear projection interactive whiteboards are currently popular in schools and colleges.
